Frank Lampard warns Kai Havertz and Timo Werner after FA Cup victory

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has issued a warning to Germany duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz following his side’s defeat to third-tier club
Morecambe in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Lampard has told the duo they need time to settle in the Premier League, but insists they cannot be patient unless they work hard.

Chelsea paid ayay 130m for the duo from Bayern Leverkusen from Kai Havertz and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Kai Havertz scored Chelsea’s fourth goal in the 4-0 win over Morecambe, his fifth of 22 appearances for the Blues, with six assists in all competitions.

Havertz has also emerged from a goal drought, but has already scored nine goals and six assists in 25 appearances.

Lampard said: “I think the level at which Kai can reach is unlimited, because he is a young player who can do a lot. But what happened to Korona, we came back, today we saw him again and he seemed fit and strong.

“There are levels that Kai can reach, but once again we have to be patient. He is a very talented player, but he has to work hard.”

Continuing, Lampard said: “I’m happy for Timo because the strikers want to score.”
